Just so fragrant with beauty! I can almost smell the Spirit rising. Thank you! And enjoy Scotland! BTW, we wrote a Powerful Places inn Scotland guidebook some years ago….
My grandfather immigrated from Anstruthers up by St Andrews when he was 17 and immigrated to Canada. We are Canadians. So I am probably 99.9% scotch with a little Irish. blessings on your journey through that wonderful country!
Cheryl, we will be volunteering on the island of Iona from May 18 to the end of July. If your trip to Scotland takes you to the holy island of Iona, I would love to take a walk on the island with you. Cathy shoulders.❣️❣️
Hi Cathy! Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, we'll be heading a bit sound/west from Edinburgh to Troon and out to the Isle of Arran. So we'll not have the opportunity to meet up with you. BUT I'd love to hear about your time on the Isle of Iona when you return. xo
Reading the post brought back a fun memory: At an apres ski in Snowmass many years ago Twirp Anderson and John Somers (sp?) were playing JD songs at the far end of the bar. There was a piano just outside the entrance to the bar. I got up and went to the piano and started playing along with them. It took them a moment but then they realized that there was an additional melody line playing. John knew me from a wedding we sat next to each outer at. You should have seen their faces when they stuck out their necks to see where the sound was coming from 🤣
What a trip this promises to be ... Doesn't it feel like there's this unspoken quality of connection when literally grounding in ancestral lands? Cheryl, I feel a great article in the works from you in response to this sacred return. I'll remember the Angel's share, it's transmutational exchange within the ethers ... how grief becomes part of something further. Loved this piece. Thank you! When I returned to Berlin after Frank's passing, it was a homecoming in many ways ... Frank's land ... our shared home. Thank you for what your words rekindled.
And my Geoffrey was(still is )a Scott!"What if your beloved’s spirit lives in the air?" YES, He lives in my air💜😇💖☯️💗☮️💞I breathe Him in. Thanks Cheryl
Being in love with anything Celtic , I love Ireland and Scotland, and all the sacred spots. I would like to recommend you visit Dinino's Den near Fife, where Druids are purported to have worshiped. Yes, Scotland is magical, but this spot is EXTRA special. I have always been delighted by the Angel's share plus the song, "The Parting Glass," which will be sung at my memorial.
I’m getting in touch with my Irish roots now in my activity of making a metal sculpture from collected scrap metal when I worked on the RAILROAD. Her name is Eachna which means horse and we are in the year of horse ironically on the Chinese calendar. Thanks I’ll run together. I’m reading Rickie Lee Jones biography called Last Chance Texaco. In the last 3 sentences in the prologue speaks to me. It says, that instinct to believe in my heart always delivers me. I go where she is going. I am with her.….
As serious as this subject is, I can't help chuckling at the image of drunken angels....
I have a place that pulls me in that same way, not a connection from this life but another. If you feel a pull like that, go to the place if you possibly can.
This was absolutely beautiful Cheryl! I am so excited for your upcoming travels. Looking forward to you sharing the many, many magical moments on your journey. Safe travels♥️♥️

What a beautiful reflection. I have always believed there is so much more happening. What is that quote....there are more things in heaven and earth?
Also thanks for the Nathan Evans reference. Got him on Spotify.
Hope your trip is magical.

I love this concept of the angels share. And that in the song they mention the piano man in the corner playing county road is an extra bonus for you!
HA! Yes, I’m not at all surprised you caught that, my friend! JD making a small appearance! xoxo

This was a beautiful remembrance. I had to smile when you said Scotland calls to you. SCOTT land calls to you.
